Zahir Latheef, Member

Zahir Latheef has been working with college MSAs for more than 10 years.  He graduated with a BBA and MS in Accounting from Texas A&M, his hometown university in College Station. During this time, he concurrently served as president of the local MSA and on the board of the masjid, ICBCS.  Zahir has worked extensively with the MSA Lone Star Council (LSC), a coalition of MSAs in Texas, conducting several training workshops, creating manuals and best practices, and facilitating networking among the Texas MSAs. He also co-founded Showdown, a state-wide inter-MSA competition of arts, Quran, sports, etc.  With MSA National, he served as President (2011-2012), VP-USA (2010-2011), and on the board of COMPASS, a management training program (2009-2010).

Zahir is currently at the University of Houston pursuing a Ph.D. in Management with an emphasis in Organizational Behavior. His research interests include leadership and conflict, and he also teaches an undergraduate management class. He hopes to apply his education and organizational experience to advance the work of nonprofits and Islamic organizations. He lives with his wife and two children in Houston, TX.

Aamna Anwer, Member

Aamna Anwer is a graduate of Northwestern University where she received her Bachelors in Spanish. She was an active member of her MSA and worked in a number of committees throughout her college career. Aamna served as a chair of MSA Chicago, an initiative by the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago. She has served MSA National in various capacities including conference chair, central zone representaive, and vice president USA.  

Lubabah Abdullah, Member

Sr. Lubabah is a third year law student at the University of Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. While at the University of Missouri she served as MSA President (1999-2000). She also chaired the Central Zone Conference and the Central Zone Camp in 2000. She then served as Treasurer and Vice President-US of MSA National.

Asma Mirza, Member

Asma Yaqub Mirza is an American born Muslim, living in Virginia, who recently earned her MBA from the University of Maryland. At the age of 26, Ms. Asma is the youngest person ever elected to a leadership position with ISNA. Ms. Asma currently works as a strategy consultant and has a track record of successful leadership in her roles as founder of the MSA Legacy Fund and as a founding member of the ‘Campaign Civil Rights” at Georgetown University, where she received her BSBA in Business Management. Ms. Asma has actively supported the positive growth of ISNA as the 2007-2009 MSA National President and a previous committee member on the ISNA Majlis Youth Committee, Annual Convention Program Committee, Secretary General Search Committee (2007-2010) and as an ISNA convention and conference speaker.

Mohamed Sheibani, Member

A recent graduate of the University of Ottawa, Br. Mohamed has been with MSA National since 2003 serving as the East Zone Canada Representative, Vice President Canada, President and now Ex-Officio. He has also worked with the Ottawa Muslim Association, The Family Eid Festival as well as Human Concern International.
