Board of Directors
President – Ali Fiaz
Hailing from Chicago, Ali Fiaz graduated from Benedictine University with a degree in Health Science and a minor in Psychology. There, he served on the MSA board as Vice President and later continued his involvement nationally serving as Ameer of Qabeelat Wasat, the Al-Maghrib tribe of Chicago in addition to serving as conference chair for the 2011 and 2012 Central Zone conferences. In his current pursuit to become a dentist, his most recent project is establishing a comm’unity’ series for his masjid, Islamic Foundation. When he’s not playing basketball, he’s watching the food channel. And when he’s not watching the food channel, he’s eating chicken makhni.
Vice President, USA – Maria Ahmad
Maria Ahmad graduated with a BA in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The Ohio State University in Columbus, 50 miles south of her hometown, Mansfield. During this time, she served on the MSA Board as Sisters Social Chair, and then President. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Adult and Higher Education at Northern Illinois University, where she also serves as a Graduate Assistant in the office of Student Involvement and Leadership Development. Maria resides in DeKalb, IL with her husband.

Treasurer – Rabia Zahid
Rabia Zahid is a graduate of Bradley University where she received her Bachelors in Psychology. She served as president of her MSA during her sophomore year of college . Rabia has been actively involved in MSA National where she has served on various committees since 2010.
Ex-Officio – Aamna Anwer
Aamna Anwer is a graduate of Northwestern University where she received her Bachelors in Spanish. She was an active member of her MSA and worked in a number of committees throughout her college career. Aamna served as a chair of MSA Chicago, an initiative by the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago. She has served MSA National in various capacities including conference chair, central zone representaive, and vice president USA.
Zonal Representatives
East Zone USA – Safia Ansari
Safia Ansari graduated with a BA in English from Georgia State Univeristy, in her hometown of Atlanta. During this time, she served as President of the MSA in her junior and senior years, as well as on the board of the local masjid, Al-Farooq Masjid of Atlanta. She has worked extensively with the Georgia MSA Council in the capacity of President and Ex-Officio. Safia is currently pursuing a Masters of Teaching in Atlanta and she lives with her husband in Atlanta.
Central Zone USA – Ibrahim Afzal
Ibrahim is a cool Muslim guy from Chicago. He currently attends the University of Illinois at Chicago where he is going to be a sophomore studying Industrial Engineering. His first love was basketball, and his second love is cooking.
West Zone Liason – Adeeb Ahmad
Adeeb is a 3rd year Human Development student at the California State University, East Bay and an aspiring firefighter-paramedic. He was the former Field Organizer for CAIR-Los Angeles where he helped keep the Muslim community socially engaged and empowered. In his free time Adeeb enjoys competitive gaming and endurance cycling.
