Assalamu Alaikum!

Ramadan Mubarak!  May Allah accept our fast, prayers and supplication.

The MSA celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, a remarkable milestone for any institution.  A simple idea conceived by a handful of students has grown into a national movement impacting millions of people every year on college campuses and beyond. Campus activism is alive and well with more being exposed to the beauty of Islam as the next generation of leadership is being cultivated.

For all the success, Muslim students face growing responsibilities and challenges. According to the Pew Foundation, the fastest growing religion in the U.S. is agnosticism with the largest population of religiously unaffiliated being people aged 18-29 (32% of total) with many leaving Islam daily.  Also, practicing Islam has become more difficult as Islamophobia is rampant with 46% of Americans having a negative view of Islam (Washington Post-ABC News poll) order ambien online buy ambien online canada ambien generic .

In response, the MSA conducted a strategic review and implemented many measures to better address the future challenges and opportunities. In particular, the MSA has migrated to an institutionalized board structure that includes students, alumni and professionals serving multi-year commitments (see Dr. Altaf Husain’s summary thoughts). To take the organization to the next level, the board has embarked on its most ambitious fundraising plan. To date, we have raised $120,000.

The funds will be used to strategically buildout the day-to-day leadership with the right resources and expertise.  While MSA has prospered with the support of tireless volunteers, it is critical to upgrade its organizational maturity and hire people focused exclusively on improving campus activism.
