Did you know — depression affects one in five adults and one in six youth aged 6 -17? October is National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month. MSA National is proud to partner with Naseeha Helpline and the American Muslim Health Professionals to increase your understanding of the signs and symptoms of mental health issues. Support is available for you or others, and seeking help is a sign of hope and strength.

Naseeha provides our community with the tools needed to address mental health. With their confidential helpline, our youth receives immediate, anonymous, and confidential support over the phone from 12 PM – 3 AM, 7 days a week. With their educational programs, they raise awareness within the community of the stigma around mental health.
Their services are open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. They are committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental environment where individuals can discuss their concerns without fear of stigma or discrimination.

American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP) is a national non-profit organization focused on fostering collaboration between Muslim professionals from diverse sector of healthcare who seeking to advance public health, social justice, and civic engagement within their communities. AMHP’s core areas of focus are mental health, advocacy for underserved communities, and professional development.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based certification program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health issues while also building an understanding of their impact. We are proud to partner with the American Muslim Health Professionals to offer this crucial training for student leaders at an affordable rate as part of MSA National's "Depression & Mental Health Awareness Month" (October).
